Many of us have enjoyed a day out on Bruntingthorp track, giving rides for charitys at an event sponsored by Asda. Its just about a month away and the organsiers need to know who would like to attend... BUT ... what may be the deciding factor is the council are monitoring noise and have and been trying to pass an injunction against track events. They will be monitoring noise outside the track, but its been suggested around 100 db to keep the peace! So anything much more that standard pipes isn't going to meet it. At the moment there are places for Vipers, but if Viper club aren't going, the places can be offered to other clubs. I don't see it listed in the events wiki, so would any Vipers like to go??

Heres some info:

"Leicestershire's best kept secret" "on your marks"

there's been no mention of an asda day this year, first ive heard of the club being invited, i'd be up for that Nad, i know Brunters are getting quite strict on noise testing now after reading the VMAX threads, all their cars were tested before being allowed out to play a few months ago

you'd be OK Neil F with your stock exhaust

Not true last year there was no testing went with the SRt at well over 105db did not get D qued, the original problem was the bikes most of whom well exceede 110 db.

Spent loads of time with the Cerk of the course but will check again on noise checks.

Lets get the fatcts right, thi is a charity event not VMAX and a Spit and a Mustang are so much louder than a Viper.

Cool, so that 4 of us then so far (?) and it would be a treat to see the TTs in action.

Paul you might want to have a chat with John the organiser, I'm only repeating what he told me today. Aircraft are not the problem, its the event cars the council are out for. They are not welcome onto the venue to test, but will be monitoring close as they can get, there will also be organisers monitoring on the track, if too loud cars go out they will ruin it for everyone, the event and others could be cancelled, remember this is all about charity, the whole day.

I'll let them know Vipers will be attending, and get the passes and info / timings, out to those wanting to go soon.

Ok I have contacted John to find out the facts, but I am sure that it will be the same as last year ie if you take the pi** then you will be asked to keep the noise down if you continue then you will get an early bath.

Bruntingthorpe was on the original WIKI as a club event but somehow it has disappeared, next year it would be best if only one person had access to modify the WIKI this would stop things being deleted.

And as for the view by the experts, this will be mny 8th year doing this, sometimes without any help sometimes with a little, most people put off by rumours of noise testing and aggresive marshalling, which never happens.

Last year at court they won the case re the injunction.

If you would like to do Brunters then please let me know and I will enjoy meeting you there.

BTW Brunters last year raised over 30K...............were you there???................Me, Mitch, and ACR Neil were !!!!

Bruntingthorpe was definitely on last years wiki list, but don't think it was ever added this year, I have just checked back on my list and it's not noted so may have been missed this year. I can't see me getting away with 100db, but depending on how busy I am by then I might make the trip up for a day out if the weather is looking good and there is a good group of cars attending.
